The breakfast room was very good and the bathrooms were very good. I had another room to the one allocated and that was fine. Hall and Reception room were ok.

I didn't like the carpets with the lions on, and the drapes over the mirrors on the landings seemed rather dated. I was allocated to room 411 which I didn't like - clashing decor and what sounded like noise from a power plant, but room 211 was fine. The hotel was ok but I felt it was rather dated.

    Price and location

Suited to its core clients of aged

Good atmosphere - friendly helpful staff - good sized bedroom and bathroom [with window] - parking tokens for 24 hrs - good food - good bar area and dining room - good seating outside - good location - great lift!

Nothing, apart from a very boring and noisy guest from a wedding party at the hotel, who, I believe, had been clinging to the bar for a number of hours. Because the bar area was not very large, he completely dominated it and there seemed to be nowhere else to sit, but I'm sure this is not the norm

Well positioned hotel with sea views and convenient for town facilities.Comfprtable and clean and with helpful staff

Decor good although rather old fashioned.

Clean bathroom, clean crisp bed linen, comfortable bed.

Breakfast needs improving. No manager present. Staff inattentive. Hot food badly cooked and very poorly presented.

    Beds and food good.

    Bedrooms poor and ensuite tiny

A beautifully restored and classy hotel with excellent, helpful staff. It was particularly useful to have a hotel parking voucher (£1) which enabled us to park on the promenade roght by the hotel,

Chatsworth Hotel had a Victorian charm about it and was very much a seaside resort. Some of the features were quaint and typlically British. The receptionist was excellent and always smiling and very helpful. It was in a great location and exuded charm and elegance reminiscent of the south of France.

In that it was typically British small things made it non as good as it could have been. The sink (in the bedroom) didn't have anywhere to hang a towel (a towel ring would have done); the shower (a converted cupboard) didn't have anywhere to put soap except the shower tray; the door to the shower room/toilet was totally out of keeping - wood veneered MDF (or similar) in a largely white painted room; other than the receptionist and the barman, the staff were surely and not very attentive; at breakfast we were shown a table then asked to move because another guest 'always sat there!'; the breakfast wasn't good quality.

Everyone is friendly, the food is good and the ballroom is great

Only thing was in the bathroom the toilet was too close to the wall and it is impossible to sit on it correctly

the sunshine was the best thing the receptionist never got off her backside once when dealing with clients

attitude of staff no restuarant available saturday or sunday evenings told to walk to cafes down road ,wife awaiting hip replacement and i have just had eye op so blind in one eye

Its position on the seafront with a side seaview and the breakfast.

The ensuite was like a cupboard with a sliding door with no lock and no washbasin(sink across the far side of bedroom). The window was very difficult to open and the curtains difficult to close and they were hanging off the rails partially about 20ft above. The inside of the ensuite door had paint stains on and the tiles in the ensuite were a bit chipped and odd patterns and for a hotel described as having been refurbished it was poor.

The room was very spacious and breakfast was lovely.

The reception staff were useless! I arrived at 2 as we were at the hotel for a four o'clock wedding and wanted some time to get ready. However the receptionist was extremely unhelpful saying that we would have to wait as she didn't know if house keeping was done. We waited 15 minutes (without her actually attempting to make contact with house keeping) and eventually i suggested that i went up to have a look. She agreed after a while and the room was fine??!! Following this, i had emailed the hotel to ask about parking. I was told if i parked in the multi storey the hotel would give me a ticket for £1 for 24 hrs. Unfortunately they told me the wrong information. the £1 permits were for road parking around the hotel.

A beautiful building, with a warm and welcoming reception area. A lovely big room with a side seaview. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

There was some peeling wallpaper in bedroom. The bathroom was in need of updating. Bathroom window frame was in poor state of repair.

The staff were very helpful and the room was very good value for money.

The room could do with being repainted ad the paint is chipping away.

Well appointed room. good location, lovely view. Parking was easy

showers in both rooms were difficult to use and did not give a 'good' shower. Pillows were hard.
